Summer Slam 2005
“Hey, where’s Carrie,” he asked the bigger man in the crowded and noisy
backstage area. He had been looking forward to seeing her today, even
though he knew she had said no months ago. He missed her and wanted to
see her again.
“She stayed home with all the kids, so the rest of the family could
come,” David told his buddy. He knew why Cena asked, it was written all
over his face. He was still in love with her, in spite of his best
efforts to pretend he wasn’t.
“No shit,” he asked with a grin as he shook his head. He knew how much
she loved her nieces and nephews, so he wasn’t that surprised. He had
just been hoping to see her, that was all. They still talked on the
phone and emailed, but it wasn’t the same. “I bet that’s a sight. Two,
no three little ones and her watching tonight’s show from the comfort of
her couch. Bet she has a great time,” he said, genuinely happy for her.
“Does that mean I get to see your beautiful wife after the show,” he
asked his long time buddy.
“Yeah, she’s here tonight, along with the rest of the clan. I know my
son is dying to meet you again,” he laughed as he thought about how his
son thought John Cena was really cool, but wasn’t too impressed with his
own dad. Kids.
“Okay, cool. So I’ll see you at the party afterwards,” he asked as he
was turning away to get ready.
“Yeah,” David nodded. ‘Taker walked up to him and shook his head.
“He’s another one of her conquests, eh,” he asked David.
David grimaced, “Yeah, but not on purpose, I think.” ‘Taker smiled at
the other man’s choice of words.
“It’s surprising there aren’t more us of in the company, considering how
long she’s traveled with you,” ‘Taker said quietly.
“Not really,” David said. “She was protected by Evolution and no one
wanted to mess with us,” he admitted.
“If I was serious, it wouldn’t have mattered one way or the other, who
was protecting her. It’s just a good thing I was on this show, instead,”
‘Taker told him quietly. David nodded as he absorbed that, knowing he
was glad that ‘Taker had been on Smack Down for most of the last few
years.
“Hey, have a good match tonight and give Randy hell,” he said, knowing
that he would and Randy would be sore as hell for a week or more after
tonight.
“Oh yeah,“ ‘Taker grinned. “See you later, probably at the party
afterwards.”
***
She stood at her front door and waved at Carla, Wease and Mikie as they
pulled out of the drive way. She had Ethan on her shoulder, trying to
get him to burp. Mike was busy with Abby and Lissa. She shook her head
as she realized she had been relegated to babysitter for the entire
family. It was even more astounding to realize she kind of liked it.
Almost the entire family decided to go to tonight’s pay per view. She
guessed it was because of the venue and because many of them didn’t
normally get to see the show live. She was more than happy to give up
her pass to Kris so she could be with her husband. David didn’t need her
help today anyway. At least not in the usual way. He was surprised when
she volunteered to be the family baby sitter. She knew he was going to
ask his mom, but she was freed up to go with them too, and watch from
the skybox with everyone else.
Mike had also volunteered to stay and help her, to no one’s surprise,
except Carrie. If she was in town, chances were good Mike wasn’t far
from her side. Liz wanted to stay home, too. She said she wasn’t feeling
very well, Carrie suspected cramps and understood.
“What did you want to do about dinner,” she asked the other two. Liz
just shrugged, not really having too big an appetite.
Mike smiled at her said, “Don’t worry, I got it covered.” He was in his
typical t shirt and jeans and he already had some sticky stuff on his
shirt thanks to the little black haired beauty in his arms. He walked in
to the kitchen to get some food for Abby who was giggling at him and
chewing on his shirt. She was now on “grown up” food most of the time,
but she still liked some of the stuff in jars and Mike was going to
cheat and give her some of that, because it was easier tonight. He put
her in the high chair that Carrie still had in the corner of her large
kitchen, grabbed a kitchen towel for a bib, hooked a chair with his leg
and put it in front of her so he could feed her. Liz watched him and
couldn’t believe that her Uncle Mike, the man that all her friends
thought was “smokin’ hot”, was smiling as he was feeding some brown
slimy stuff to Abby. She knew they’d never believe her. They thought he
just hung around in shorts all day, doing nothing but looking hot.
Lissa was playing with her toys and enjoyed taking them out one at a
time and watching Liz put them all back in the box. Lissa would ask the
name and Liz would tell her in both sign and spoken, sometimes causing a
giggle to escape her little sister as she thought some of the names were
silly. Carrie was walking around humming to Ethan and rubbing his back,
still working on that elusive burp. She was smiling as she took in the
scene of her home, full of kids and toys and noise. Mike was still
feeding Abby, and Ethan needed to go down for his long nap, so that left
Liz in charge for a minute.
“Liz, if my cell rings, will you please answer it? It might be your mom
or something,” she asked her.
Liz looked up from her place on the floor with Lissa and nodded. Aunt
Carrie asking her to answer her phone was a big deal. She normally asked
her to just let it ring and they’d leave a message. Mike had finished
feeding Abby. Most of the food made it into her mouth, not her hands and
face, but she needed a quick wipe up before she could play with her
cousin on the floor.
Carrie’s cell rang. Mike looked up and realized he was a lot closer to
it, since it was on the kitchen counter.
“Don’t worry Peanut, I’ll get it,” he said to her as he picked up Abby
from her highchair. “Ms. Martin’s phone, can I help you?”
“Um, yeah. Is Carrie available,” the male voice on the other end asked.
Mike smiled, because he had a good idea who was calling. He recognized
his voice from a few years ago, it was a very northeastern distinctive
accent.
“Not really. She’s currently up to her elbows in dirty diapers and bed
time stories,” he laughed as he said it and opened his eyes wide at the
tot in his arms. He was rewarded by a giggle as she attempted to pull
the phone away and taste it for herself.
“Oh yeah. I heard about that,” the other voice chuckled.
“Yeah, she’s crazy. She volunteered for the duty today. I think she
might have a screw loose somewhere but, who knows,” he said amicably.
“Is this Mike,” the other voice asked.
“Yeah,” Mike affirmed as he walked around the couch with Abby in his
arms. He still had a hard time sitting while he was on the phone, even
with a baby in his arms.
“Hey, Cena here. Can you just let her know I called? Not a huge deal,
just wanted to say hey, and I’ll talk to her later,” he said.
“Sure. Not sure how long she’s gonna be buried in diapers and stuff, but
I’ll tell her. Have a good match tonight, John. Talk to you later,” he
said in preparation for hanging up.
“Thanks, I will. Talk to you later, Mike. Bye,” John said as he hung up.
He held the now silent phone and shook his head. He couldn’t believe he
just had a conversation with Carrie’s boyfriend, and it was a polite
one. He wasn’t sure he would have been able to be that calm if the roles
were reversed. Maybe she chose the right guy after all, he thought.
Didn’t matter, he still missed her and found himself looking for her and
wanting to share stuff with her. He wasn’t sure how long this kind of
stuff took to go away. He had never experienced it before, not like this
anyway, so he didn’t know.
“Liz, I should have let you answer that. It was your favorite, John
Cena,” Mike smiled at her, knowing she had a crush on the champion, most
girls her age did. She blushed at she thought about what she might have
said if she had answered it.
“Really? Aunt Carrie knows him? I didn’t know,” she said. Her aunt’s
coolness went up several more notches at that news. Mike just smiled at
her. Yeah, Carrie knew him, knew him very well, but didn’t make an issue
out of it, so neither did he. He learned that lesson well.
“Do you think she could ask him to autograph something for me,” she
asked.
“Autograph what,” Carrie asked Liz as she came back in the room without
Ethan.
“John Cena. He’s so hot, Aunt Carrie. Could you ask him to autograph
something for me,” Liz pleaded with her aunt. Carrie looked from Liz to
Mike and still didn’t know what was going on.
“He called while you were busy and I answered. Liz missed talking to him
and now she bummed,” Mike explained. Carrie’s eyebrows rose at that
nugget of information.
“I hope you were polite, Mike,” she asked him.
“Of course. Not his fault,“ Mike said, leaving the rest of the sentence
unfinished because of their company. She nodded her relief. Sometimes,
male egos were confusing and irritating to figure out, but Mike seemed
to have gotten over that issue well enough. “He said to say he just
called to say hey, nothing major. I told him you were buried in bedtime
stories and diapers. He understood,” he finished.
“Oh, okay. Thanks. I’ll call him later and congratulate him after his
match tonight. I’m sure he’s gonna win this one, stupid if he doesn’t,”
she said to Mike only. She looked at her watch and realized it was time
for the next one to go down. She picked up Abby and smiled at her, “Hey,
Sweet Pea, time to go to sleep, at least for a little while. Say g’night
to everybody.” Mike and Liz were treated to a big smile with a few tiny
teeth showing and a half attempt at blowing kisses.
Mike picked up Lissa and sat on the couch with her in his lap. They
still had about half an hour to go until the show started. It looked
like they were going to be ordering pizza anyway. He had planned on
cooking, but it didn’t look like there was going to be enough time. He
flipped open his cell and called for delivery.
“Is there anything you can’t eat, Peanut,” he asked Liz. She shook her
head. “Good, it’s tough enough dealing with your aunt’s food issues,” he
said. Once he had ordered, he put his cell back in his pocket and
concentrated on playing with the toddler in his lap. Liz was sitting on
the couch with him, watching.
“Uncle Mike,” she asked him.
“Yeah,” he said without looking over at her, since he was playing silly
games with Lissa and attempting to sign at the same time.
“Are you going to give Aunt Carrie a baby,” she asked out of the blue.
He felt like someone had just kicked him in the gut with that question.
He tried to maintain his composure as he asked, “Why do you ask that,
Peanut?” He kept his eyes on Lissa, not daring to look over at his
niece.
“I just want her to be happy. She loves kids, babies, big kids, small
kids, it doesn’t seem to matter. But she doesn’t have one of her own. So
I thought maybe you’d give her one,” she finished. She knew she was
being nosey, but she wanted her aunt to be happy and she thought the
next thing she needed to make her happy now that Mike was in her life
was a baby.
Mike was shaken. Out of the mouths of babes, he thought. He didn’t tell
Carrie, but he had been to his doctor to see how feasible it would be if
he wanted to reverse the procedure he had done years ago. If he wanted
to have children with anyone, he wanted to have them with her. The
doctor said it was a simple procedure, similar to the first time, so no
worry. The chances of success were high, since his procedure was very
basic, not as drastic as some men have.
“I think we would need to ask your aunt, don’t you,” he asked Liz. She
nodded, knowing he wasn’t going to discuss it anymore with her because
of the tone of his voice. She hoped they did have babies, because it
would make both of them happy. Uncle Mike seemed to really enjoy being
around all the kids in the family, too.
Carrie came back out after getting Abby to sleep and looked at Lissa.
“It’s your turn next Lissa,” she said in both sign and verbal to the
toddler.
“I can do it, if you want,” Liz said to her aunt. She knew how to put
her to sleep since she did it many times at home.
“Thanks, that would be great. I’m sure Lissa would like it better
anyway. Just put her in Mikie’s bed for now,” she advised her niece. Liz
nodded and walked away with her baby sister in her arms.
“C’ mere, you,” Mike whispered to her from his place on the couch. She
looked over to him and smiled. She took a deep breath and sat on his
lap, his very nice and comfortable lap, she thought to herself. She
always felt safe wrapped in his arms. He had his arms around her and
kissed her neck, causing her to shiver in anticipation.
“Bad boy. Not tonight you know. Kids,” she giggled. He rolled his eyes
at her and smiled.
“I know, but I wanted to kiss you anyway. You got a problem with that,”
he said that last part using his best Pacino voice.
“Do you mind if I kiss you,” she asked him. Before he could answer she
wrapped her arms around his neck and thrust her tongue between his lips,
trying to devour him from the inside out. It was the kind of kiss that
got his attention, and made him ache.
“No fair,” he managed to say eventually. “Look at what you’re doing to
me and we have Liz here. You’re bad, you know that,” he smiled at her.
She nibbled on his neck and rubbed his thighs with her fingers, making
him groan with need. “Damn it woman, you don’t play fair,” he said from
between clenched teeth.
“Did someone make up the rules when I wasn’t looking,” she laughed. The
doorbell rang just in time, as far as Mike was concerned.
“It’s pizza babe, I have to get it,” he said as she climbed off is lap.
He stood up and took a couple of deep breaths, trying to clear his head.
“Let’s hope the delivery person has a sense of humor then, or you need
to take a minute to adjust things,” she laughed loudly at the sight of
him. He looked down at himself and shook his head. He made the necessary
adjustments for decency and opened the door for their pizza.
The show was just starting as Liz came back out. Mike served her a
couple of pieces of pizza before she had a chance to sit down. Mike sat
on one end, Liz sat on the other end of the couch, leaving Carrie to sit
in the middle. Not very fair, as far as she was concerned. She ate her
pizza, while she watched the first two matches. The other two enjoyed
the show from her couch, she thought with a grin.
“Anybody want anything else,” she asked. “I’m getting some water,” she
tempted them. Neither wanted anything, but they both had empty plates so
she collected them on her way to the kitchen. She came back a few
minutes later with a smirk and a bottle of water. She went directly to
Mike’s corner of the couch and sat on his lap, with out any warning. He
was surprised, but accepted her on his lap. He loved having her near and
on his lap was an added bonus.
“What’s up, babe,” he asked her as she got more comfortable and he
wrapped his arms around her. Liz watched and grinned at them from her
end of the large couch.
“Um, nothing. It’s just that you’re sitting in my seat,” she grinned at
him. He brushed her hair away from her face and smiled at her. She was
small enough that she could get very comfortable on his lap. She
recognized what she had done to him and knew she’d better stay on his
lap until Liz went to bed.
He bent to whisper in her ear, “You’re a bad girl, and I love it.” The
next match was Randy against the Undertaker.
“Ooh, this should be good. Randy really has been a pain in everyone’s
ass recently,” Carrie said to them both. Mike just nodded as he watched
the two men square off against each other. Liz realized that her aunt
knew Randy Orton, too. That was even cooler.
“Do you think you could get Randy Orton’s autograph too,” she asked her
aunt. Carrie chuckled.
“Sure. Did you want the Undertaker’s too, while I’m at it,” she laughed.
“Oh, that would be too cool. Is he mean? He looks really mean,” Liz said
as she watched the start of the match.
“You should know better by now. Many folks think your dad is mean too,
until they meet him. Most of the big tough guys are sweet hearts. The
Undertaker is no exception,” she explained to her niece. Liz’s eyes got
huge, just thinking about the Undertaker being as goofy as her dad. “Ask
your Uncle Mike, he knows him, too.” Liz focused on her uncle at this
unexpected news. Mike nodded at her questioning glance.
“He’s pretty funny, really. He has some funny stories about your aunt,
believe me,” he told his niece with a chuckle.
Carrie watched his match with interest, knowing how he felt about Randy.
He had told her that he thought Randy needed to grow up a little more
before they pushed him to the moon. She remembered nodding her head in
agreement with him, remembering that Ric had voiced the same
reservations about him a couple of years ago. She was amazed at his
professionalism during the match, he worked well and gave Randy all the
props he’d need to succeed and sold it like nobody’s business. She
wasn’t sure she would have been able to do it, if she had been put in
his shoes. That’s why he’s the one that does it, and not you, she
giggled to herself. She also noted that Randy wasn’t as healed as he
told everyone he was, he was still favoring that shoulder just a little
bit, but between them they covered up that weakness well. She hadn’t met
his dad yet, but had been told he was a very nice guy, who had a big
blind spot when it came to his son. What father doesn’t, she thought.
She knew that others thought her weird when she watched wrestling. She
stayed silent, and just watched. She didn’t yell, or boo or scream, she
just watched. She knew Randy would be sore as hell for a week or more,
but that was the price everyone knew they paid when they worked with The
Undertaker, she remembered. After that match ended, she nodded at Mike,
but said nothing.
Liz had run away for a quick break and missed the opening of John’s
match. Well, all she really missed was the intro, but she was upset with
herself that she missed even that. Carrie turned slightly and smiled
with Mike at Liz’s frustration. John’s match was interesting to her. She
hadn’t seen him work with Chris before. She knew what the outcome was
scheduled to be because of Chris’s other obligations, but they did a
great job working it and making the crowd believe. She was pleased to
see John’s knee didn’t appear to be bothering him. Chris would be
missed, both backstage and in the ring she knew and she hoped he would
succeed in the next couple of months with his band. She missed talking
with him about music and metal since David’s move. He was one of the few
die hard metal fans she could talk to about music and not have people
think she was very strange. John had given up trying to convert her
tastes to more mainstream months ago. Mike had never tried, he seemed to
know better. She looked at Liz and realized that Kris and David’s
daughter had a serious hero worship crush thing happening with John.
Interesting. She would definitely call him this evening when all of it
was finished.
Next match was David and JBL, she realized with a grimace. They had been
working together for a couple of months and things were getting better,
but still not as professional as she thought they should be. Those damn
male egos, she knew. Okay, one male ego and it wasn’t her brother in
law’s. She watched the start of the match and tensed as she realized
what she saw. Damn it. His lower back was still killing him. He said it
was better, but it clearly was not. She’d chew his ass later, but she
had to sit and watch him work through the pain with one of the stiffest
workers in the business. But she knew he gave as good as he got, in that
area. Mike noticed her getting more and more tense as the match
progressed.
“What’s wrong babe,” he whispered.
She shook her head and said quietly, “Watch. Look at how he’s moving.
His damn lower back is still giving him hell.”
She winced as JBL pounded on him, but knew it was part of the business
and David was willing to pay that price. She heard Mike quietly say shit
after a particularly stiff shot. She nodded and hoped it was going to be
done soon. She let out a deep breath that she hadn’t known she was
holding when they finished.
The last match of the night was old school, as far as she was concerned.
She knew Shawn wouldn’t appreciate being called old, but it was great.
Lots of drama, near misses and then the Hulkster doing his thing to
everyone’s delight. They were both professionals and always gave it
their best and the crowd ate it up.
After the last match, she waited about ten minutes, hoping to have some
of the noise subside in the back, before she called. Liz had pestered
her enough and she was still up, so why not.
There was a lot of crowd noise when he first answered, “Hey Baby, good
to hear from you. You watch tonight?” he asked. He was smiling and she
could hear it, she could also hear him walking away from the noise.
“I did. All of us were cheering you on John. Good job. I know you’re
going be sore as hell tomorrow,” she said. He could tell by her tone
that she had others listening, so he went with that.
“Glad to know I still have some fans,” he laughed.
“Shit, you know better than that. Speaking of that, it’s one of the
reasons I’m calling,” she said as she got up to walk into her kitchen,
so Liz wouldn’t hear. “Seems that my niece, David’s daughter, thinks
Mister John Cena is all that and a bag of chips. I guess she didn’t know
her dad knew all these cool people until this evening, and it is even
better that I know you,” she said with a smile.
“Oh Baby, you are too much,“ he told her. He couldn’t imagine her old
enough to have a teenage niece.
“When you called earlier, she was bummed that she didn’t get to talk to
you. She is also dying for something really cool to be autographed by
her favorite wrestler,” she supplied.
“What? Me? What about her dad,” he asked.
“Her dad is just her dad, doesn’t matter what he does or anything. He’s
still just Dad to her,” she explained.
“Okay, so what do you want me to do, Baby,” he asked her. He was trying
to think of a way to make the niece happy without upsetting the aunt in
the process.
“Her name is Liz, she’s thinks you are to die for hot, as she says. She
probably won’t say much on the phone because she’ll get all shy, but
talk to her anyway. She’ll love it. Is that asking too much John,” she
asked him. She had never asked him to do anything like that before so
didn’t really know. She saw Mike standing in the doorway, smiling as he
listened to her request of John.
“Baby, I get asked to do stuff like that all the time and I don’t even
know the people. This should be fun, since I know her aunt and her
parents. Does she ever come to shows,” he asked her.
“She hasn’t in a while, but I get the feeling she’d like to start
again,” she explained.
“Okay, give the phone to her and I’ll talk to her. I’ll talk to you
later, Baby and thanks for watching my match and calling. I miss you,”
he said quietly.
“Thanks John, you’re the best. I’ll talk to you later. Hang on, I’ll
give her the phone,” she said as she walked back out to the main living
area, with Mike following close behind trying to hide his grin. “Liz, I
have someone who wants to talk to you. He heard you’re a big fan and
wants to thank you personally,” she smiled at her niece’s incredulous
look. She knew John could hear, so she was giving him the ammunition
he’d need. Liz gulped and reached for the phone.
“Hello, this is Liz.” Her eyes got very wide as she listened to the
voice on the phone. She mouthed the words, Oh My God, to her aunt. She
blushed as she listened some more. “Yeah, um yeah” was about all she
said for five minutes. She grinned and said, “That’d be really cool.”
Her aunt and uncle watched her and enjoyed her reactions as she listened
to her favorite wrestler talk to her. She blushed again and said, “Okay,
I’ll let her know. Thanks. I’ll look for it, thanks. Talk to you later,
bye,” and she hung up. Liz sat on the couch with a dazed look on her
face.
“Well, honey? How was he? Was he as nice as you’d hoped,” she asked her
infatuated niece.
“Thank you so much, Aunt Carrie. He’s so nice, he’s going to send me one
of his jerseys autographed. He said to watch for it in the mail, says he
knows the address because of Dad. He also said next time there was a
joint pay per view he’d send some ring side tickets for me, and some
extras so you could go too, if you wanted. Plus, he wanted to know if it
was okay if he gave me some backstage passes!” She was grinning from ear
to ear, she was so excited.
Mike looked over at Carrie and could almost read her mind. Cena was
being a nice guy to Liz, but also knew Carrie would probably go to
escort her and keep her safe. He didn’t blame the guy, he had a feeling
that if he dropped dead tomorrow, Cena would be knocking on Carrie’s
door. He knew he should feel jealous about all of that and how most of
Dave’s wrestling buddies treated her, but he didn’t. He knew where her
heart was, and it was with him and that was what was important.
“Jess will never believe this. I can’t wait to tell her tomorrow,” she
said still grinning widely.
“Speaking of that, time to go to bed, since there’s school tomorrow,”
Carrie said to her. She knew she’d still be grinning when she woke up,
if she managed to sleep at all. Liz just nodded and went to her room,
without speaking. She was in her own world, and it was filled with John
Cena’s voice.
“Looks like John has a fan for life,” she said to Mike. He just smiled
at her as he watched his niece walk back to her bedroom in a daze.
“Does he have a fan in you, babe,” he asked her quietly. She looked at
him sharply.
“Of course. I think he’s a good guy, you know that,” she said to him.
She was confused by his question, it sounded like a jealous boyfriend
type question, but he didn’t act like that to go with it.
“What about me,” he asked her. “Are you a fan of mine,” he grinned in to
her surprised green eyes. He could never get enough of looking in her
eyes. They were so green, like spring grass or deep rich jade. He’d
never seen anyone else with eyes her color and always thought of them as
very unique to her. They were very expressive when she wanted them to
be, sometimes even when she didn’t. But he loved looking into her eyes
when he spoke to her.
“Do you really have to ask me that,” she grinned. She reached for his
hand and they climbed the stairs to her bedroom.
With a naughty smirk he said, “I want you to show me.” She was surprised
at his request, but smiled at him as she closed the door and shut out
the rest of the house. She knew the monitors would let her know if any
of the little ones woke, so no problem there. They quickly stripped off
their clothes and she proceeded to prove to him how much of a fan she
was.
As they were drifting off for some much needed sleep, she asked, “Do you
believe me now?” He just held her tight and kissed the top of her head
in response.
***
He woke up with her snuggled up tight next to him. Her small ass was
cradled by his hips. He loved sleeping with her, loved the feel of her
small frame curled into him. The feel of her ass against him was enough
to wake him up. He slid his hand down to her hip and caressed her for a
moment, just to enjoy the feel of her soft skin as he leaned forward to
breathe in her scent. He trailed his fingers from her hip to her breast,
rubbing a lazy circle around her nipple. He felt it contract from his
touch. He leaned forward and whispered in her ear, “You’re so
beautiful,”
She mumbled, “Naughty boy,” and stretched. She didn’t pull away from
him, she snuggled her ass against him more. He smiled as he realized her
answer to his unspoken question. He slid his hand from her hip to make
sure he wouldn’t hurt her and was rewarded by a gentle sigh. She was
ready for him, he thought with a grin. He pulled himself back so he
could slide into her slowly, carefully. He was always surprised by how
tight she was, but he loved the feel of her. He made sure to keep his
movements slow, he wanted to savor the moment. Their new angle gave her
more sensations, he could tell as she gripped the pillow. She reached
over her head to pull him to her. She grabbed his hand and licked his
fingers, one at a time, making sure to swirl her tongue around each one.
He couldn’t believe how fucking hot that was, as he sped up his pace...
As their breathing slowed and she was able to think again, she knew she
never wanted it to end.
“Naughty boy,” she said when she turned to him.
“It’s all your fault,” he teased her. He brushed her hair back from her
face and grinned in to her eyes.
“Really,” she giggled, knowing that he was going to tell her something
silly.
“Babe, you leave me every week for five long days. Then the things you
tell me on the phone? I have never heard such stuff out of a woman’s
mouth before. Don’t get me wrong, I like it, I like it a lot. But damn,
I’m ready to jump you before you’re even out of the car.”
“Interesting thought. How come you haven’t greeted me at the door ready
with just a bow and a smile, if that’s what you want? Don’t you think
I’d like to have some dessert before you feed me dinner? I don’t have to
always have a nutritious meal as soon as I walk through the door, ya
know,” she told him. She knew he was thinking about it. Her next return
home might prove very interesting. “Ask David about some of the things
Kris does when he gets home, if you need any ideas,” she laughed. She
ran her fingers over his chest, to punctuate her words.
He laughed with her, knowing she had given him some very interesting
ideas. He loved her and how she talked to him and enjoyed spending time
with him, even when there wasn’t any sex involved. Lisa only spent time
with him if there might be sex in the near future. He grimaced as he
remembered that. Carrie enjoyed talking to him, listening to him and
sometimes debating with him. A thought occurred to him as he realized
that maybe this was what a healthy adult relationship should be. It was
all new to him, so he wasn’t sure. She had warned him that there would
be war if he ever changed the channel during a hockey game. Luckily, the
season hadn’t started yet, so he was safe for now.
