He had wanted to say something about kissing her
earlier but didn’t know where to start. He had been trying to think of a
way to talk about it on the short drive back to her place. Once he
pulled in to her drive, he shut the truck off, unbuckled himself and
turned towards her, intent on saying something. He just wasn’t sure what
yet. He looked over at her and realized she was concerned or maybe
terrified might be a better term. He hated himself for being the one
that put that look on her face. That was the last thing he wanted to do.
“Carrie, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to push. I don’t want you to think
that’s why I am here, because it is not. I’ve known you for a long time
and have watched you neglect yourself while you take care of others. I
thought it might be nice for someone to take care of you for a change. I
know you’ve spent your entire adult life taking care of others, but no
one has been taking care of you. That’s just not right. You deserve
better than that, a lot better.” He stopped speaking for a moment since
he had no idea what he was going to say anyway, the previous just came
out without thought. She sat quietly for a long moment. He didn’t know
it but his words hit their target right between the eyes. Someone else
had told her something similar recently. He had forced her to reevaluate
herself and others in her life, just by reflecting herself back at her.
Her eyes started to get glassy and tear up. Damn it, she was not going
to cry. That was not part of her plan for the day and she wasn’t going
to do it. She sat still and concentrated on not crying one minute at a
time, she thought back to her training and how to keep her emotions in
check. Mike watched her hold herself in check. He had never seen anyone
fight for control like she was. He realized that she was probably the
strongest woman he knew as he sat and watched her. He kept quiet, not
wanting to disturb her struggle.
Finally, after many minutes of silence, he said, ”Carrie, give me your
keys.”
She looked at him questioningly, but handed them over to him without a
word. He left her in his truck while he went and unlocked her door for
her. He walked back to his truck and handed her keys back to her.
“Carrie? You need to go inside. Will you let me help you,” he asked her
quietly. She looked at him, not really understanding what he was saying,
but she nodded slowly. He reached his hand to her and waited for her to
grab it. He helped her down from his truck and held her hand to guide
her up the steps to her front door. Once inside, he guided her gently to
her room, pushing her down to sit on her bed.
“Carrie, I’m going to call Kris for you,” he said as he left her on her
bed in her room. He wasn’t sure what had caused her to retreat into
herself, but it scared him. It scared him that he was the cause. That
was exactly what he didn’t want to have happen. He had a vague
recollection of Dave saying something about martial arts training and
realized what he had just witnessed. Shit, he needed a beer. But first
call Kris and tell her what an asshole he was.
“I don’t know how to explain it, Kris. One minute she was fighting for
control and the next minute she was like in some strange zen state,” he
told her over the phone.
“She’s home now and safe, right,” Kris asked him.
“Yeah, I’m still here, because I can’t lock the deadbolt with out a key.
You think she’ll be alright,” he was worried.
“She should be fine. Just leave her to sleep. Here’s the hundred dollar
question, what did you do to her to make her react so strongly,” Kris
asked him. She couldn’t imagine Mike hurting her in any way so she was
at a loss to understand it.
“This is where it starts to make no sense. I apologized for kissing her,
yeah I did that. Just one little one. She didn’t seem mad or anything.
She was cool at the hospital, afterwards. At least I thought so. But
then I explained to her that I thought she deserved to be taken care of
as well as she took care of others. I told her I had seen how much she
gave of herself to others, but didn’t look after herself, and that’s why
I was there. Not to push her or kiss her or anything like that,” he
explained.
“Mike,” she sighed into the phone. She ran her fingers through her hair
and looked over at her husband who was concerned but not sure what was
going on. “You just hit the nail on the head with Carrie. Someone else
recently told her the same thing and she was having a hard time coping
with what he told her too. But this sounds like she just shut down, is
that right,” she asked. David now had an idea of the conversation and he
was sitting on the couch with his wife in his arms, trying to comfort
her too. He knew she was worried, the hair thing was a give away.
“Yeah, she shut down mostly. She could hear me, but didn’t react. She
was able to walk to her room, but not much more. You sure she’ll be
okay,” he asked.
“Yes, she hasn’t used that training in a long time. It’s what they teach
students to use to ignore extreme pain. I was never good at it, but
Carrie was. You could probably have cut her arm off and she wouldn’t
have flinched,” she explained to the worried man.
“That doesn’t make me feel good,” he told her.
“She’ll be fine by the morning. Think of it this way. She might actually
get more than four hours sleep tonight,” she said trying to reassure
him. “I will call her in the morning and check on her. Dave’s going to
drive by in a bit to make sure it’s all locked up, if that makes you
feel any better,” she said. Her husband looked at her at this unexpected
news. He understood her worry, so knew it was a simple way to make sure
everything was fine.
“Okay, if you’re sure,” he said.
“I am. Thanks for letting me know and I’ll talk to you tomorrow
probably,” she said.
“Okay, bye,” he said as he hung up the phone. He went to make sure she
was okay. She hadn’t moved from where he left her on her bed. He quietly
went out the front door and closed it and locked it as best he could. He
sat and thought for a while before he drove home. The woman he happened
to fall in love with could do that? He scared her so bad that she felt
she had to do that to cope? He realized it was the first time he had
actually fully admitted to himself that he had fallen in love with
Carrie. When did that happened, he wondered. He knew he’d been attracted
to her for years, but nothing else. She was a beautiful woman and he was
a man who noticed. He didn’t know when it started, but he still had a
feeling it had been longer than he was willing to admit, even to
himself. With that worrying thought in his mind he drove home and went
to bed.
He didn’t know that David asked his wife about what she had told Mike.
What training, he asked. So she explained as best she could from her
limited experience what students were taught, but very few learn and
even fewer master. She tried to explain it so he could understand it in
everyday terms, but for some words and actions there were no
translations.
“So does everyone learn how to do this awake meditation thing,” he asked
her. He was still trying to come to grips with hearing that Lil’ Sis had
another surprise. He was beginning to think he didn’t know her at all.
“No, only a very select few. It is only taught to those that have
reached a certain level, because before that all of us are noisy,” she
wrinkled her nose at that translation, but it was the best way to
describe a students mind in training.
“So you’re saying Carrie, the same little lady that travels with me
every week, has this skill,” he asked for clarification.
“Yes, when she was in training, her teacher said that she was one of the
best he’d ever trained,” she said simply.
“Why’d she give it up,” he asked. It was just so hard to put what he
knew of her with this new piece of info.
“For the same reasons that Mike said. To care for others, first and
foremost her brother,” she said quietly. “She still competed for a
while, but eventually gave that up too,” she said with a tired sigh.
“This is part of that area you always leave out, isn’t it,” he asked
her.
“Yes, it’s her story to tell and I’m sure she will someday. It might be
sooner than she’s ready for, if Mike’s any indication. We’ll just have
to wait and see,” she said.
***
He had a terrible, restless night, berating himself and his behavior. He
couldn’t get Carrie’s terrified look out of his mind. Then add in her
retreat from him and the entire world, he was ready to shoot himself
before dawn. Damn, why did he end up hurting the one person he was
trying so hard to protect? He felt she needed someone to care for her as
much as she cared for others and he wanted to be that person, but what
was the point if he was just going to scare her and cause her to retreat
from him. He just wanted to hold and protect her, why was that so hard
to do. He knew she had some serious shit behind her, but had no idea
what. Last night’s reaction to him just verified for him that it was
serious and still unfinished. He wanted to help her. No one should have
to cope with anything like that alone. Would she let him, particularly
after last night?
He was going to do as he said and treat her as he thought she deserved
to be treated, regardless by bringing her lunch today. He just knew he
needed to be careful around her and keep himself in check better. He
didn’t want to scare her anymore. He realized he never had those worries
when he was with Lisa, now he knew why. He didn’t love her or hadn’t in
a very long time. He didn’t know what it was, but it sure didn’t feel
anything like what he felt for Carrie.
***
The ringing phone woke her up. What the hell, she thought. Did she
forget to set an alarm? What the hell was she doing in her clothes? She
reached over and grabbed her phone.
“Hello,” she asked the voce on the other end.
“Carrie, it’s Kris. How are you this morning,” she asked gently. She
could tell that the phone had woken her up. She hated herself for waking
her up, but knew she had a busy day ahead and wouldn’t appreciate being
late.
“I don’t know yet. I just woke up.,” she said honestly. Kris could hear
by her voice that she was confused by the fact that she had still been
asleep.
“Ah. You had a long weekend, then you throw in Abby,” Kris said.
“No, it’s more than that. What happened, Kris,” she asked her best
friend.
“You sure you want to hear this,” she asked. Kris had hoped she wasn’t
going to have to tell her, but knew Carrie’d insist.
“Yes,” she said with irritation. She had a horrible feeling she knew and
didn’t want to even think about it.
“Well, do you remember coming home from dropping off Mikie and Liz,”
Kris asked her.
“Yes,” she said. She was sitting up and starting to take yesterday’s
clothes off so she could get in the shower to start another busy
weekend.
“Remember how we used to joke and use the term ‘walk about’,” Kris asked
her quietly, knowing Carrie didn’t want to hear what she was telling
her.
“Oh shit. Did I do that to Mike,” she said. Things started coming back
to her, some things at least.
“Yes, sweetie. You did. He called here frantic, worried that he’d done
something horrible to you and that you’d never forgive him. Plus I think
the whole thing just freaked him out a little. Shit, you freaked us all
out a little,” she told her best friend.
“Damn, damn, damn. What was I thinking? I don’t remember anything
horrible enough to make me do that,” Carrie admitted.
“I don’t know, but please call Mike in a bit and let him know you’re
okay. I think he’s really worried about you. He’s a good guy and he only
wants you to be okay,” Kris told her.
“Yeah, I will, after my shower. Busy ass day today. Thanks for waking me
up and thanks for helping Mike with my freaky ass last night,” she
smiled as she said the last so Kris would know she was teasing. Shortly
afterwards, they hung and Carrie jumped in the shower to wake up and to
get her day started. She hated being late. She didn’t mind waiting on
others, but hated having them wait on her. Her bags were already packed
and sitting by the other side of the bed, just waiting to be picked up.
She knew David was due to stop by in the next few minutes, so she had
just enough time for a quick call. She dialed Mike’s phone and waited.
There was no answer after five rings, so she hung up and tried again,
just in case she dialed the wrong number. Still no answer, but no voice
mail either. She was embarrassed to realize she didn’t have his cell
number. She’d have to try again later today, during one of those many
boring times they had talked about.
She heard the taxi pull up outside her door and opened it before the
driver had made it up her steps. She smiled at him as he reached for her
bags. She thanked him for his courtesy and climbed in the back with
David.
He looked her way and just shook his head. Just when he thought he had
her figured out, she did something different to screw it up. But looking
at her now, she didn’t look any different. Maybe that was his worry, he
wasn’t sure.
“Mornin’, how are you today,” he asked her. He wasn’t sure if he was
comfortable bringing up last night, since he didn’t witness it, but it
was definitely on his mind.
“Better than last night, obviously,” she joked with him. He was
surprised by her lighthearted attitude. But if that’s how she wanted to
play it, that was fine with him. “I’m sorry for scaring everybody last
night. I have no clue why I went ‘walk about’. It’s been a long time
since I have and I hope I don’t do it again. Anyway, just wanted to say
sorry for causing you worry,” she said simply.
“Why do you call it that,” he asked. He knew what it meant in Australian
movies, but didn’t quite get the connection.
“Kris and I called it that when we were young. We couldn’t say the term
correctly, so we used a similar sounding one. It’s has a somewhat
similar meaning,” she explained.
“Okay. So how else are you going to surprise me this week,” he said as
he let out a deep breath.
She smiled at him and said,” I think I’m done for now, thanks.” and
winked at him. He couldn’t help himself, he chuckled with her.
“So, how does this travel week look,” he asked as they turned to
business matters.
“Not as horrid as last, but still pretty busy. Do we know who is making
the trip this week,” she enquired.
“No, I think Rick is out for a few more days, at least he was the last I
heard from Hunter. I don’t know if Nan is with us or not. I guess we’ll
find out soon enough.”
“I hope she feels better. Hunter won’t be happy if she comes and she’s
still sick. He worries about her, but doesn’t want her home by herself
when she’s sick, but doesn’t want her traveling either,” she said with
sympathy. “Besides, I miss Nan. She gets me into way too much trouble.”
Carrie smiled to herself thinking about some of their drinking
adventures.
“Oh, no. Not again. You two ladies tore up Nashville last time.”
“Yeah, and it was fun,” she smirked at him. She checked her phone for
any messages and saw she had another text. She opened it up and scrolled
through reading it. He always brought a smile to her face, some of the
things he said in text were very naughty, but fun. She tapped out a
quick reply and sent it. She knew she should feel bad for ‘playing’ with
him, but he had told her he didn’t care and wanted to spend time with
her anyway.
She remembered one of their conversations after she stopped her
waterworks last weekend.
“John, we have to stop this now. Before either one of us gets hurt,” she
said to him.
“Baby, it’s too late for that. I’m in way too deep. I don’t want to stop
anyway,” he said as he kissed each of her fingers.
“But David is getting moved to the other show soon and long distance
things never work, you know that,” she said.
“We could try,” he asked her hopefully.
“No, John. Let’s not do that please,” she said as she tried to
concentrate on her argument without getting distracted by the sight of
him leaning on the headboard. He just smiled at her words, it seemed to
her that he just didn’t care. But she knew he did and she was trying to
protect both of them.
“How long do we have, do you know,” he asked her, as he finished with
her fingers and caressed her arm with his gentle lips.
“No, so it’s better to stop now, because it could be tomorrow,” she
tried to explain.
“Do you really want me to stop,” he said as he reached her shoulder,
knowing just a few more inches and she’d be putty in his hands.
“John, really. Do you like getting hurt? I know I don’t,” she kept
trying to get her point across to him.
“Of course not, but sometimes the risk is worth it. Like now,” he
whispered in her ear.
“John. I don’t want to hurt you, but you know I will. I don’t understand
why you’re willing to do that to yourself,” she mumbled as she leaned
into his gentle touch.
“It’s worth it to me, even if we end this tomorrow. I don’t know how I
can make you understand other than by showing you,” he grinned into her
unfocused eyes, knowing he made them that way.
He was so stubborn about it, she shook her head wondering why he was
willing to let himself be her boy toy as he called himself. He had
taught her that she needed to take care of herself and expect it from
others too. He also had reminded her what it was like to have a lover
that cared enough to show it. So they would continue on this path for as
long as they could, playing summer camp, as she called it. He was so
naughty that he signed his texts to her as bt. She asked what he meant
and he told her boy toy. She didn’t understand him at all, but accepted
him and what he offered her, with no strings.
***
He saw that he had missed several calls while he was shopping for
today’s lunch. No number showed on the id, but that wasn’t unusual. He
was so irritated with the local phone company. They charged exorbitant
rates for services that didn’t work half the time. His caller id was one
of those things. He might be brave soon and go totally wireless. He was
going over today’s lunch surprises for Carrie in his mind, hoping to
surprise her again. He should call her soon and see if she wanted to
come over or if he was going to use her kitchen again. Her kitchen was a
lot nicer, it was a lot larger for a start, so he didn’t mind working in
it.
After he put all the groceries away, he picked up the phone and called
her house, hoping to catch her at home. He also wanted to make sure she
was okay after last night. Kris said she’d be fine, but he was still
haunted by her retreat. After five rings and no one answered, he hung
up. He tried her cell. No answer, said the user was out of service area.
What did that mean, he wondered. Next thought was to try Kris; she
usually knew what was going on with Carrie.
“Hi Kris, I’m trying to track down Carrie. Any ideas,” he asked the
beautiful blonde.
“She hasn’t called you yet?”
“No”
“She’s probably over Nashville by now,” she tried to explain. His heart
skipped a beat.
“What do you mean,” he was afraid he knew. Why didn’t he remember what
day it was today? This was the beginning of her work week and if he
remembered correctly, it was a hectic one. Kris noticed the silence over
the phone.
“Mike, you still there?” she asked him.
“Yeah,” he sighed. “I forgot what day it was. There were a couple of
missed calls earlier, but I was out,” he missed his chance to talk to
her before she left. He had been trying to work up the nerve to tell her
how he felt and was going to attempt to do it over lunch today. But,
he’d have to wait another week before he got another chance. He rubbed
his face with his hands, what a dumb shit he was. “What time are they
due in, do you know?”
“In an hour or so, but they go straight from the airport to an autograph
session, then from there they had something else, but I can’t recall off
the top of my head,” she apologized.
“So, what you’re telling me is don’t try until later? Is that right?”
“Yeah. I think today was hell-ish.”
“Have you talked to her today,” he dreaded the answer.
“Yeah, she was fine. She got a lot more sleep, so that’s a blessing. She
said she had no idea why she did it, Mike. So I don’t think it was you.
She would have said something to me if it was.”
“Thanks for trying to make me feel better. I still feel like a shit, but
I can live with that for now. What are you and Melissa doing for lunch
today?”
“Us? We’re just hanging out at home, missing Dave even though he’s only
been gone a few hours,” she said truthfully. I know the feeling, he
thought to himself.
“Let me take you two lovely ladies to lunch today. I know just the
perfect place for us,” he said.
“Oh Mike, you don’t have to do that,”
“I know, but I want to. I haven’t seen you or Melissa very much recently
and you know what a sucker I am for blondes,” he laughed.
“When you put it like that,” she laughed, “We’d love to have lunch with
you. Thanks for asking us.” She thought to herself that it would be a
good time to see if her suspicions were right. He thought that it would
be a good time to find out if Carrie had anybody in her life right now.
He was embarrassed to admit he didn’t know. They still hadn’t talked
about it.
“I’ll see you two pretty ladies in an hour. See you then, bye”
***
They barley made it out the doors before he grabbed her and kissed her.
He lifted his head for a moment to see where, and opened a door to a
closet and closed it quickly once they were inside.
“Oh baby, I’ve missed you. I love you,” he said in between kisses. He
reached under her skirt and slipped his hand into her panties, driving
her insane. He quickly disposed of his shirt and was taking off his
pants while still kissing her, caressing her. “Baby, I want you. Please,
right now,” he mumbled. She had her hands on his chest, caressing him,
licking him, making him forget where he was and his name. She kissed his
neck and chest, listening to him gasp as he reached for her. He wanted
her, and she wanted him. She stopped a moment, so she could take off her
panties. She purposely left the rest of her clothes on. He looked at her
and grinned.
“Oh God yes,” she said as she reached for him. He unbuttoned her blouse
and slipped her bra off so he could enjoy the sight of her. He knew he
loved watching her ride him and getting to see all of her was even
better. He hiked her short skirt up just enough and picked her up. God
yes, she was ready, she realized. She knew she was after his last
naughty text, over an hour ago. Stop making me wait so much, John. She
almost groaned out loud, she was so impatient. He glided himself in to
her gently and she clamped down on him. Oh man, he missed her and wanted
her. She wrapped her legs around him so she could concentrate on
devouring him. He started to thrust in to her, slowly at first, but she
urged him on, wanting him faster, harder. He had both hands on her ass,
he could feel her starting to get close, so he slowed down. He wanted to
try and tease them both, just a little. She urged him on with her legs,
she wanted release and she wanted it now, he knew. She latched on to his
neck, below his adam’s apple, and nibbled on him. That did it. He
couldn’t keep himself slow anymore. He started pounding into her, she
whispered, “oh yes baby, yes.” He looked at the beautiful woman riding
him and knew he wasn’t far behind her. “Oh, yes,” she said just before
she clamped down even harder on his cock. He could feel her contracting
on him as he continued to thrust in to her. He pounded into her vise
like grip, feeling himself get ready to explode.
“Oh baby, I love you,” he said as felt himself unload into her.
He held her as he kissed her glistening neck. He never knew a woman who
looked so beautiful to him drenched in sweat. Sweat that he caused. She
rested against him, catching her breath. She smiled in to his eyes.
“Sweetie, I left a mark. I’m sorry,” she said.
“Good. Maybe that’ll keep some of the flies away,” he said without
thinking.
She looked at him questioningly, “That bad, huh?”
“Sometimes,” he admitted. It was just something that he never got used
to, even though he pretended it was no big deal. It was every man’s
dream to have tons of women wanting them, but it was a pain in the ass
in real life. He couldn’t get away from them sometimes. Carrie
understood what he didn’t say. She saw David struggle with the unwanted
constant attention, too. She was amazed at her species sometimes, some
of them were so brazen and didn’t like to be told no, no matter how
nicely it was said.
They took their time getting dressed and joining the real world, as she
called it. He kissed her as she put her bra back on, she giggled at his
struggles to rehook it for her.
“You had no problem getting it off, what’s the hold up,” she teased him.
“Baby, can we stay in here all night? Think anyone would notice we’re
missing? I’d really like to,” he asked her as he finally managed to get
her bra snapped. She rubbed her hands along his shoulders and chest
slowly and licked her lips as she looked into his eyes. She allowed
herself a brief moment to consider his request. She shook her head
slowly. “Yeah, I thought it was too good of a daydream to be true,” he
said as he reached for his pants.
She helped him slide his pants on and up and made sure to interfere with
him as much as possible, almost ensuring that their extended absence
would be noticed. He loved her even though he knew it wasn’t meant to be
or last. He couldn’t help himself.
“Baby, I gotta go. I have an interview to do for the cameras,” he
remembered.
“Shit, make sure you stop by make up first and cover up that mark,” she
reminded him. He grinned at her and slipped out.
She left a few minutes later to return to the relative quiet of
Evolution’s locker room. She first stopped by the ladies room for a
brief splash of cold water to make sure she stopped glowing. David would
notice, she knew, and she didn’t really want any grief from him tonight.
She made her way back to their locker room, refreshed and rejuvenated.
She knew as soon as she opened the door and saw Hunter’s back, they were
going to bitch at her, like worried parents.
“Nice you could make it today,” David said to her as he watched her walk
in and sit down.
“Yeah, what the fuck happened? We were both worried about you. Dave was
ready to kill Jerky earlier because he didn’t know where you were,”
Hunter snapped at her.
“Chris? Why would he know where I am? God damn it, have you got everyone
watching out for me?” she asked. She glared at both big men with her
hands on her hips, even though she was sitting down. She was angry just
thinking about it.
“Somebody has to. You don’t seem to give a shit,” Hunter snapped back.
She could see he was working himself into a temper, all because he was
worried about her. Plus she knew he was worried about Nan, so she was
going to get the brunt of all of that, too. She guessed that David might
have an inkling where she was, but didn’t know for sure. She got up from
the couch and put her arms around Hunter’s ribs and hugged him. He
wasn’t prepared for her to hug him, he was just working himself up into
a good bitch fest.
“What? I can’t yell at you when you do that. You know how I am, damn it.
I worry and I like to know you’re safe,” he said in a much milder tone.
He had wrapped his arms around her and spoke to the top of her head.
“I know, you bastard,” she said gently to her blonde protector.
“Carrie, if you have extra curricular activities planned, just let us
know so we don’t worry. Hunter was right. I almost beat the shit out of
Jericho for not knowing where you were,” David said to her. She was
still in Hunter’s brotherly embrace. Hunter just nodded.
She pulled away a little so she could address both of them. “Okay, okay.
But damn it guys, can’t a girl have any privacy around here? How many
more do you have keeping an eye on me,” she asked both of them.
“Lil Sis, there are some weird assholes that work for this company. I
hate to say it, but I know most of them. I worry for that exact reason,
I know them and what they’re like,” Hunter told the top of her head.
“Okay. No more excursions planned for the night, unless the food is
decent,” she asked David.
He held out his hand flat and pivoted it back and forth to show that the
food was marginal today. At least marginal for her, anyway.
“What’s on the schedule tonight for you guys,” she asked them. She
wanted to get away from her excursions, and back onto professional
territory.
“The creative team has this wonderful idea of putting Cena with Dave and
me with JBL, again. Shit, at least 3 of us can wrestle,” he shook his
head. He didn’t understand why JBL was traveling with the RAW group this
week, he wasn’t drafted. Maybe it would’ve been different if Rick was
well enough to travel, but he needed to stay home and made sure he was
well. Hunter knew that Rick busted his ass when he was on the road,
sleeping very little, drinking too much sometimes and beating the hell
out of himself in the ring. It’s a wonder he didn’t get sick more often.
At least they were managing to get Carrie to eat more often now, without
having to sit on her to do it.
David knew his unspoken message was understood by her, since he would
never come right out and say it, especially not in front of Hunter. She
needed to be more careful and more discreet with Cena. He knew she would
be, she just needed to be reminded.
Hunter thought about Dave’s words to Lil Sis and realized that Dave
might have an idea of what she had been doing and with whom. Did he
really want to go down that road with either of them right now, he
wasn’t sure. She was an adult, even though they protected her like she
was an infant. It must be a huge pain in the ass for her, traveling with
a bunch of assholes every week. They bossed her around, yelled at her
and generally took advantage of her helpfulness. As long as she was
safe, and he knew that she was safe, that’s all that he really needed to
worry about right now. He realized he was going to miss her more than he
wanted to admit when they transferred Dave. He accepted her like family
and she accepted him like the overbearing big brother he acted like. Of
course he was going to miss Dave, that went without saying, but he’d
also miss the lady who organized all their shit, including last minute
changes with out batting an eye. He needed to go for a walk or
something, he was starting to get just a little too sappy, even for him.
David watched Hunter walk out the door and shut it behind him. “Sis, you
had us both worried. I don’t care who or what you were doing, just let
us know. We care about you, even if you don’t want us to,” he said to
the small lady on the couch.
“Okay, I understood you the first time.“ she said. “How are you feeling
about the transfer coming up,” she asked him to get away from the
lecture.
“Wish I knew when it was so I could get my brain around it,” he said
honestly.
“I think it’s soon, right after this RAW or pay per view. Why else would
you be saddled with JBL,” she didn’t bother to suppress her shudder at
the thought of him. David didn’t know she felt like that about him. She
was usually pretty easy going with most of the guys, even if they
weren’t very nice to her. He wondered what caused that. She always had
her reasons, even if they didn’t make sense to him.
